Student Commencement Speaker Series

To promote Eastern's commitment to strengthening the academic and personal experience for our students and to showcase examples of exemplary writing and speaking, Eastern Illinois University invites students to participate in the Student Commencement Speaker Series.  

  • Undergraduate students - May commencement ceremony
  • Graduate students - December commencement ceremony (visit graduate school page for information)

Eligible students may submit a written essay in order to compete for a chance to be the commencement speaker and represent Lumpkin College of Business and Applied Sciences during their commencement ceremony.  Faculty mentors are involved to assist the students in submitting essays and to provide guidance and support. 

May commencement deadline - February 27, 2017
