R. Lance Hogan is an Assistant Professor in the Lumpkin
College of Business & Applied Sciences School of Technology at Eastern Illinois University. Hogan holds a
PhD from Southern Illinois University, a Masters degree in Business Administration and
a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration specializing in Production/Operations Management from Southeast Missouri State University.
Dr. Hogan has supplemented his educational development with
work experience in support of companies including Federal Mogul (Production
Supervisor), MOCAP, Inc. (Production Manager), DMS, Inc. (Operations
Manager), and most recently as a Senior Manager for Return on Training
Consulting Group. Lance has experience in the implementation of ISO/QS 9000
and has a strong background in quality management principles with an emphasis in
human resource development. Research interests include topics such as: training and development, quality management, improvements through human
performance, training transfer, self-directed teams, and ISO/QS 9000.
Recently, Dr. Hogan was
awarded the EIU Achievement and
Contribution Award for Teaching Excellence recognizing faculty who
consistently demonstrate outstanding performance in the classroom. As a doctoral student, Hogan was awarded the Ruston James
Carter Academic Excellence Award, was selected to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor
Society, and served as Chapter President for Omicron Tau Theta National Honor
Society. Further, Hogan was voted as "One of the Best" by his peers and
faculty at Southeast Missouri State University's Harrison College of Business (M.B.A.).
Dr. Hogan is currently teaching in the area of human resource development,
organizational development, and quality management. In his spare time, he enjoys
cycling, golfing, and
Panther Athletics.
Lance lives in Charleston, Illinois with his wife, Kimberly.
