Opportunities for Giving
The Lumpkin College of Business and Applied Sciences at Eastern
Illinois University strives to maintain a high level of excellence by continually developing
new programs and enhancing existing possibilities for faculty and students. Listed below are
several opportunities to make a financial contribution in support of the College's educational
goals. By working together, the educational community and the supporting
societies of donors
can create a bright future for Eastern students and graduates.
We especially recognize the contributions of our donors who have
taken an active role in the university's success and given a portion of their resources to
benefit the educational community by profiling a few of our donors: Helen Price, Lois Elliott, Jeffrey and Lila Scott,
and Dr. Mary Lou Hubbard.
For more information about giving to the
college, you can contact Jacqueline
Joines, CFRE, the Director of
Philanthropy for the Lumpkin College of Business & Applied Sciences.
Annual Giving: Telefund
Each year, the schools within the college raise funds to
support academic programs, faculty development, and special needs of the college by
soliciting our alumni through telephone and direct mailing efforts. These funds traditionally
support the college's operations.
Special Gifts
These funds assist with special
needs of the college. These gifts are usually sought during a campaign for a building,
professorship, or other special project.
Ultimate Gift: Deferred Giving
Typically, these gifts are in the form of
bequests, trusts, gift annuities, insurance policies, real estate,
pension plans, and other accumulated assets.
The assistance of a gift planning professional, attorney, banker, trustee,
and financial planner may be needed in making these gifts. The Director
of Philanthropy can provide valuable
assistance in coordinating these professionals and insuring the intended
use of the gift.
