Jeffrey M. Willardson is currently an Associate Professor in the Kinesiology and Sports Studies Department at Eastern Illinois University and teaches Biomechanics, Principles of Exercise Physiology, and Principles of Resistance Training courses. He received a Ph.D. in the Exercise and Wellness concentration at Arizona State University in 2005 and was awarded the Outstanding Graduating Doctoral Scholar. He has conducted or contributed to more than 60 scientific investigations and literature reviews examining weight training exercise on aspects of health and athletic performance. Dr. Willardson has been a featured speaker at two international conferences in Brazil during 2012 and 2014.  Dr. Willardson is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and serves on the Education Board for the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). He enjoys teaching students the applied aspects of scientific research and preparing them for successful careers as fitness professionals. In his free time, Dr. Willardson enjoys lifting weights and spending time with family.
