Shape Up Illinois
Dr. Mark Kattenbraker (far left) and Mrs. Colleen Kattenbraker (second from right), both KSS faculty, traveled to the annual Shape Up Illinois legislative action day with 12 KSS undergraduate students. The event took place at the state capitol building in Springfield on March 18, 2009. The event is sponsored by the Illinois Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (IAHPERD). Standing at center is Senator Dale Righter – Mattoon, IL. The objective of the event is to lobby for daily, quality physical education in the schools. Teachers, professionals and students from across the state attend the annual event.
