Check your Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition virus definition file date
regularly to ensure that you have the best protection for your computer
hard drive from a potential virus From this screen shot of the Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition, you
will find the Virus Definition File Date on the bottom right. (This one
has a date of 1-29-2003.) This version of NAV, which is 7.60, has a Parent
Server of LANDESK2 and will automatically check for the latest definitions
file date. I would still periodically check this date to be sure that
the program is updating properly. To check the Virus Definition File Date if you have the NAV Corporate
Edition (you will have a yellow shield icon which looks like a computer
mouse in your system tray on the bottom right), just double click on the
icon. You will get the above screen. The Virus Definition File date is
near the bottom just above Exit. When installing or uninstalling new software it is always a good idea
to disable your anti-virus software. For the NAV Corporate Edition you will need to click on the checkbox
before the words Load Norton AntiVirus Services. You will get this screen:

Click on Unload and once the procedure is completed you can Exit from
NAV Corporate. There will no longer be a check in the box before Load
Norton AntiVirus services. VERY IMPORTANT: This software does NOT automatically reload the software
when you reboot your computer. You must use Start, Programs, Norton Corporate
AntiVirus Edition, Norton Corporate AntiVirus Edition and then click on
the checkbox you used to unload it. Once the software is loaded, you may
Exit. The icon will now be in the system tray and that is how you know
for sure the software is loaded correctly.
