Digital Divide / Equity Issues

There remains much work to be done in the area of digital equity. The gap between the "haves" and "have nots" in the area of technological access has become known as the digital divide. This is a particularly important issue for educators in rural Illinois. Having equal access to technologies is an important part of a quality educational experience for students. Finding the money and resources to make this a reality is often times difficult for poor and rural school districts. Geographic location no longer needs to be a barrier to high-quality content made possilbe by todays digital technologies.
