Welcome to Eastern Illinois University We are so glad you have chosen Eastern as your next career. This site is designed for you, the newly hired Civil Service employee, to acquaint yourself with EIU and the process that will follow. Links to the Charleston area Chamber of Commerce are also available if you are new to the Charleston area. Please view the site and feel free to contact departments or individuals listed for any questions. We are looking forward to your employment and your contribution to EIU. Agenda A "New Employee Orientation Program" is scheduled for each month. The day long program will acquaint new employees with EIU and show how each plays an important role in furthering the “I am EIU” philosophy. The program identifies the various guidelines that determine how we operate and provides presentations that will help them in their daily responsibilities such as computer usage, student expectations, and development opportunities. A campus tour and lunch are included. Please view the "Agenda" for further detail. The Employee Entrance Procedures are located on the University Process Guide (UPG) and coordinates the process in one easy directory. The University Process Guide (UPG) is detailed information and applicable forms for fiscal and business processes and procedures at EIU that support the IGP and BOT regulations.
The Board of Trustees Regulations (BOT REGS) are by-laws, governing policies and regulations set forth by the Board of Trustees for Eastern Illinois University. The Board of Trustees are appointed by the governor and are authorized and responsible to operate, manage, control, and maintain Eastern Illinois University. The Internal Governing Policies (IGP) are the policies and procedures of Eastern Illinois University approved by the President. Each policy statement identifies a monitor who is responsible for maintaining, updating and interpreting that particular policy. Questions of interpretation of and exceptions to a policy should be directed to the appropriate monitor. The Rules - Eastern's Guide to Sources (REGS) were compiled by the Internal Auditing department for a cross section view of a process and the IGP and BOT support. |
