Accountant III

Eastern’s Accounting Office is seeking a full-time Accountant III. Applicants must be an Illinois resident and possess a Bachelor’s degree that includes a major in accounting and four years of experience as a professional accountant – an advanced degree in accounting or a CPA may substitute for one year of experience; should be a self-starter; possess a positive attitude; have excellent customer service skills; and have organizational abilities with attention to detail. Responsibilities include accounting and administration of proposals, grants and contracts for the university. Grants include restricted grants and contracts, federal research and grants, state and private funded projects and student federal financial assistance. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, health and life insurance, retirement program options, and tuition waivers. Payroll Professional

Eastern Illinois University, located in Charleston, Illinois is seeking a highly organized professional to supervise an office responsible for the payroll of over 4500 staff and student employees.  Required qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or a field related to the position and two years of professional level accounting, managerial and/or business experience (one year of which was at an administrative level).  The competitive candidate should be someone who promotes a team environment, can effectively schedule and distribute workload, can lead and motivate and who supports a "customer first" setting. This is a civil service position and requires civil service testing, along with Illinois residency.

CUSTODIAL POSITIONS

We maintain a pool of applicants to fill various extra-help (temporary) custodial positions throughout the year. The base pay for this position is $9.00 per hour.


COOK/KITCHEN LABORER POSITIONS

Eastern is looking for energetic, friendly, flexible individuals to fill in as extra-help cooks and kitchen laborers throughout the school year. You will work with seasoned personnel, as well as student employees, as you further your expertise in preparing nourishing and attractive meals and facilitate the operation of the dining centers.
