Stevenson hall is an upperclass, co-educational, 24 hour visitation, residence hall housing 370 students. This residence hall is different from most buildings because it is referred to as "suite style living". There are three types of suites on each floor, two person, four person, or six person. Each of these suites have a living room, bathroom, and a hallway leading to the bedrooms.
The entire building is designated as nonsmoking. Students wanting to reside in Stevenson Hall must have at least 60 or more credit hours or be 21 years of age. There are several facilities within Stevenson Hall which students may utilize. The Lincoln/Stevenson/Douglas Complex shares the Panther Dining Center on the ground level of Stevenson Hall. The laundry facility is located in the basement. Stevenson is also equipped with two elevators. On the tenth floor of Stevenson Hall there is a large study lounge, kitchenette, and conference room which students from all areas of campus utilize for quiet study time. It has a beautiful view, and is the highest point in Coles County! The Lincoln/Stevenson/Douglas Complex houses a computer lab which is available for students that live in University Housing. Several staff members are employed in Stevenson Hall to ensure the smooth operation of this building. There are eight Resident Assistants within the building living on each of the floors. A full-time Complex Director and Associate Resident Director are responsible for the management of Stevenson. There is a full-time secretary in the Complex who works 8:00-4:30 Monday through Friday. The Lincoln/Stevenson/Douglas front desk operates from 8:00 a.m.-midnight, Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-midnight Saturday, and 11:00 a.m.-midnight, on Sunday. The Night Assistant staff which assist the University Police Department to ensure security during the late night hours in the building. The Night Assistants are an added resource to ensure that the building is running smoothly. Stevenson Hall has a student governing body which provides programs and activities within the hall. A full executive board facilitates this body and assists with the overall operation of meetings, programs, and activities. Stevenson Hall is an exciting place to live with many opportunities to meet new and interesting individuals.
