| Residence Halls & Greek Court
Prospective students
1. Apply for the residence halls or Greek Court by returning the housing application and a $50 non-refundable application fee to establish a priority for an assignment.
(You do not have to be accepted to the university to start the hall assignment process. All assignments are first-come-first-serve and based on availability, so don't hesitate to apply today!)
2. A room & board contract and a survey sheet will be mailed to you in March (fall semester) or October (spring semester).
The room & board contract and survey sheet are due in late-March (fall semester) or November (spring semester). The online version of the contract is for reference only and will not be accepted. Students must sign the room and board contract that is mailed to them after they have applied for housing.
- For students who apply for Housing after March (fall semester) or November (spring semester), a room and board contract and survey sheet will be mailed upon receipt of the Housing application and $50.00 fee, and are due back immediately.
- A housing assignment letter will be sent to you in May (fall semester) or December (spring semester).
- Students who apply for Housing or return the room and board contract and survey sheet after May 1st (fall semester) will not receive assignment letters until July.
- The deadline to cancel the room & board contract if you are not going to be a student at EIU is June 12th (fall semester) or December 12th (spring semester).
- An initial housing down payment of $250 is due June 12th for the fall semester and December 12th for spring semester regardless of financial aid. If the initial housing down payment of $250 is not received by June 12th for fall, and December 12th for spring, the room assignment and contract will be cancelled.
- Students requiring special accommodations should contact University Housing & Dining Services and Disability Services at their earliest convenience in order to discuss their particular needs before coming to campus.

Current students
have the option to take advantage of an Early Bird recontracting offer from November 30, 2009-December 18, 2009. This Early Bird contract is available for references purposes as well as the terms of participation.
- A letter containing your finalized housing assignment will be mailed to you in May (fall semester only).

Students also have the option to take advantage of the standard room & board contract.
- Standard re-contracting will be available in February 2010.
- Greek Court residents must pay $250.00 down payment at the time of signing their contract.

The apartments are designed to meet the needs of student families, single graduate students, and non-traditional students. All assignments are made on the basis of date of application.
