History:

Carman Hall was named in the honor of Ruth Carman, a faculty member who taught Latin and German.  Ruth Carman was the first former student whom a campus building is named for.  Ruth Carman Hall, completed November 14, 1971, officially opened its doors to the first “Carmanites” on September 4, 1970.  Carman will be closed for assessment beginning Summer 2013 (Press Release).
