The Honors College offers a number of scholarships to students who are currently enrolled in the University Honors and/ or
the Departmental Honors Programs.
Application materials will be available on this web site and in the Honors College Office on the first day of Spring semester each year. Scholarship payments will be made in the following fall term. Students who complete the Current Student Scholarship Application will be considered for all awards for which he or she is eligible:
Outstanding students receive awards based on academic merit and participation in The Honors College, the University, and the community.
Criteria for Eligibility:
* Good standing with the Honors College
* 3.4 minimum GPA
* At least one semester of study remaining at EIU
Charles Austin was a major contributor to The Honors College. His concern for academically able students was rooted in his lifelong interest in the liberating and empowering effect of education.
Criteria for Eligibility:
*Good standing with the Honors College
* 3.4 minimum GPA
The Doudna Memorial Scholarship was named in honor of a former President of Eastern Illinois University. Criteria for Eligibility:
* First semester EIU freshman
* Graduation from an Illinois high school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
This scholarship was established to honor the late John L. Whisnand.
Criteria for Eligibility:
*EIU undergraduate student with at least one year of study left to complete a degree
*Demonstration of financial need
