Rest and Relaxation

Although the program is rigorous, students do find time to relax. Thanks to the close-knit camaraderie encouraged by the program's small class size, students forge life-long friendships. Local places to unwind include:

  • bowling alleys
  • movie theaters (including the 1930s historic Art Deco Will Rogers Theater in downtown Charleston)
  • concerts
  • sporting events (EIU Athletics)
  • recreational areas for bike riding, fishing, and hiking
  • Fox Ridge State Park (Great for hiking, biking, and camping)
  • Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site
