Exhibit | Fall Frolic | AMM/IAM/IMA Conference| Christmas | Random

Introduction

For the Fall Trip, the HA class took a trip to Indianapolis, Indiana, where we visited Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Conner Prairie, and Eiteljorg. We met with some of the staff at each museum, took tours, and even watched a chicken fornicate at Conner Prairie!

Fall Frolic'kin!

The annual Fall Frolic took place September 30th and October 1st. The whole class dressed up in 1845 regalia and made brooms on the Lincoln Log Cabin grounds. It was an exercise in bringing history to life.

The H.A. Broomcorn Johnnies and Sallies weren't the only frolickers, though. There were also chair-makers, quilters, lace-makers, wood carvers--not to mention a phrenologist, magic show, sasparilla rootbeer, and caramel apples!

AMM/IAM/IMA Conference--Davenport, Iowa

Inside the Figge Art Museum for the opening reception. (Yes, we got free canvas bags!) Matt is very happy to be at the conference. (Here we are eating a nice dinner at Duck City Bistro). Megan and Michelle demonstrate the latest trend in chenille throws at the motel.

The AMM/IAM/IMA Conference (Assoc. of Midwest Museums, Il. Assoc.of Museums, and Iowa Museum Assoc.) took place in the Quad Cities Sept. 26-29th. We served as volunteers and in turn were able to visit with other E.I.U. H.A. alumni, attend seminars, attend the keynote speech of Dr. John Hope Franklin, author of Mirror to America, and connect with other people in the field.

After the first two weeks of H.A., everyone [except Jason and Matt!] came over to Katie's for a bonfire of celebration--and also to say goodbye to Josh who was moving back to Chicago.
