What is the clinic?
This clinic is put on by an American Lung Association
volunteer. The clinic distinguishes itself from other smoking cessation programs
by being:
Resource Rich – This program is designed to provide
the participant with the best possible information and supportive
educational materials.
Highly Structured Program – This program offers a
systematic approach to quitting through a logical 7 week progression from
awareness of the smoking habit to the actual behavior change of quitting.
Focus on Behavior Change – The focus is positive. The
activities show participants how to change their behavior rather than
emphasize scare tactics and disease discussion.
Maintenance – This program provides the participant
with tips to stay smoke-free as well as a plan to maintain their behavior
change.
