Eric Davidson - (On sabbatical till May
15, 2008)
Eric's personal mission is to serve, teach and lead so that the health, leadership abilities, and personal development of others is strengthened!
Eric has been employed with the EIU health service since 1996. During this time he has overseen the expansion of the Health Service's Health Promotion efforts, advised several student groups including BACCHUS, Health fair Planning Committee, Colleges Against Cancer, Alpha Phi Omega, and several others.
Eric currently is a national volunteer with The BACCHUS Network as the Area 4 Coordinator, is Co-Chair of the Illinois Prevention Alliance, and is a member of the American College Health Association's Alcohol and Drug Task Force. Eric is currently working toward his doctorate in Community Health Education from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. His research interests include: health service utilization impact on collegiate academic success, health behaviors and their impact on collegiate academic success, effective substance abuse and sexual health education interventions, and collegiate peer education efforts.
In his spare time, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, reading books on leadership, management and personal development, and camping/backpacking. During the summer of 2005, Eric canoed the Boundary Water Canoe Area and Quetico Provincal park, Ontario.
