Student Accomplishments & Awards

Each year, the Department of Health Studies encourages interested students to attend and present at national and state level conferences. As a Department, our faculty believe in providing these opportunities allowing our students to excel in the field.

2007 - Bloomington, IL: The Illinois Chapter of the Society for Public Health Education's (ISOPHE) Social Marketing Conference

The Department of Health Studies congratulates Tajala Ahmad, recipient of the 2007 Shirley O'Reilly Student Scholarship Award

Eric Davidson, ISOPHE President (r) presents the award to Tajala Ahmad. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student in Public or Community Health Education.

2007 - Baltimore, MD: The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) National Conference.

Adam Karcz receives The American Association for Health Education's "Major of the Year" award.

While attending the conference, Heather Gay, Adam Karcz, and Kelly O'Malley participated in a National Case Study Competition.

2007 - Springfield, IL - Illinois Public Health Association's annual conference.
