Please note that these opportunities may be limited, as not all Panhellenic chapters will participate.

 

Alpha Sigma Tau

1/19/11 Open House
At this event we will just show the girls information about Alpha Sigma Tau and have them meet the ladies.

1/23/11 Philanthropy Day
At this event we will participate in a philanthropic event of making pillow cases which we donate to the children's hospital in Bloomington.

1/26/11 Spa Day
At this event we will paint each others nails, do each others hair and experience a true sisterhood coming from Alpha Sigma Tau.

1/30/11 Cocoa and Cookies
This will be a really relaxed event we will decorate cookies to give to other houses on campus, as well as watch a movie and hang out. Proving our strong sisterhood again.

2/2/11 Game Night
The ladies of Alpha Sigma Tau will be playing fun games like catch phrase, and apples to apples.

2/6/11 Mocktail
Alpha Sigma Tau will be hosting a mocktail with Shirley Temples, a chocolate fountain along with wearing our pretty dresses. This will be our last event for spring recruitment. This will be a fun event and a way to end the recruitment process with a bang.

All of these events start at 8pm and will last till 9-9:30. We would love to invite any girls interested in going Greek. We would like to prove we have a strong sisterhood, along with doing fun activities for the community.

 

Delta Zeta

The women of Delta Zeta will not be participating in this spring’s recruitment, but we anxiously look forward to meeting and recruiting a great group of girls in fall of 2012! Good luck to everyone in the recruitment process, may you find not just a house, but a home. GO GREEK!

 

Kappa Delta

Jan 30th at 7-8:30p.m.

Jan 31st at 7-8:30p.m.

Each night meet at the Kappa Delta Chapter house wearing casual clothing, like jeans and a nice shirt.

 

Delta Delta Delta

Jan 24: Jersey Party 7 p.m.

Girls should wear a jersey/sports apparel of their choice and Jeans – food will be served.

Jan 25: Country girl/City slicker Party at 7 p.m.

Girls should dress to their roots. (city girl dress like a city girl: country girl dress like a country girl) – food will be served

Jan 26: Pre Night 7 p.m.

Fancy dresses and food will be severed.

 

Sigma Kappa

Hi ladies! We won't be participating in spring recruitment this year, but Sigma Kappa would like to wish you the best of luck and we hope everyone has a great semester! We are looking forward to having fall recruitment next year!

 

Sigma Sigma Sigma

Our sorority will be doing spring recruitment. The dates are as follows:
Monday 
February 6th from 5:30-6:30pm to learn more about our sisterhood and get to know some great girls!(casual attire.)
Wednesday 
February 8th from 5:30-6:30pm for snacks and beverages. (formal attire.)

Alpha Gamma Delta

This year Alpha Gamma Delta is not participating in spring recruitment, but we are very excited to meet you all during formal recruitment in the fall! We hope you have a great semester!

 

Alpha Phi

Alpha Phi is so excited for spring recruitment and looking forward to meeting all of you.


Our open house will take place on January 24 @7pm. The open house will be around an hour.This is a time to meet the girls and get to know alpha phi. Causal attire.


January 25th will be another day to come to the house for games and snacks. It will start at 7pm as well. Casual attire.

 

Alpha Sigma Alpha

January 30th and 31st at 8:30pm at the house. We look forward to seeing everyone coming out!




Panhellenic Formal Recruitment for 2012 will take place on September 6th to 10th, 2012.


The on-line registration process will be available beginning on June 1st, 2012.

 

  • Participation in Recruitment and new member period are restricted to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled as full time students in good academic standing (2.50 or above GPA) at Eastern Illinois University.
  • To participate in Recruitment, the student must register with the Panhellenic Council and pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 to cover the cost of supportive material.
  • It is strongly suggested the Potential New Member attend one informational meeting and all Events. If she cannot attend, she must contact her Gamma Chi 24 hours prior to the event.
  • If a Potential New Member wishes to pledge, she must sign a Preference Card in the University Union after the Preference Event.
  • Potential New Members should attend all Recruitment events, even if they have previously participated in Fall Formal or Spring Informal Recruitment.


Potential Member Bill of Rights

  • The right to be treated as an individual.
  • The right to be fully informed about the recruitment process.
  • The right to ask questions and receive true and objective answers from Recruitment Counselors and members.
  • The right to be treated as a capable and mature person without being patronized.
  • The right to ask how and why and receive straight answers.
  • The right to have and express opinions to Recruitment Counselors.
  • The right to have inviolable confidentiality when sharing information with a Recruitment Counselor.
  • The right to make informed choices without undue pressure from others.
  • The right to be fully informed about the binding agreements implicit in the preference card signing.
  • The right to make one's own choice and decision and accept full responsibility for the results of the decision.

 

First Round - Thursday, September 6th

During First Round Events you will visit all nine sororities the First Day of recruitment. You will get 25 minutes at each sorority while in Greek Court. You will meet a variety of women from each chapter including the sorority chapter President and the Recruitment Chairperson. You will meet so many people and will have so much to talk about that before you know it you will be saying good-bye.

Second Round - Friday, September 7th

At this time you will return to seven sorority chapters for Second Round events that will last for 30 minutes each. During Second Round, you will meet more members and participate in a craft to benefit each sorority's Philanthropy. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The sororities are glad to see that you are interested in their chapter and will be happy to answer your questions.

Third Round - Saturday, September 8th

At this time you will return to five sorority chapters for 45 minutes each. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The sororities are glad to see that you are interested in their chapter and will be happy to answer your questions.

 Preference Day - Sunday, September 9th  

The last day of recruitment is called Preference. At Preference you will return to up to two chapters for 60 minutes each. This will be a very special day for you. The sorority will discuss what sorority membership means to them and what it could be like for you.

Bid Day - Monday, September 10th

Bid Day is the final day of Recruitment and the day you will receive a bid to join an individual sorority. You will meet with your Gamma Chi, join in an All-Panhellenic Celebration,  and walk to Greek Court with your new member class!

Grade Expectations

All potential members are required to have a 2.50 cumulative GPA in order to participate in formal recruitment. As an initiated member, to remain in good standing with Panhellenic Council you must maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA.

Estimated Costs

Each chapter semesterly dues vary. Dues range from $250-$450 per semester. The cost to live in the chapter house is established by the University. It is the same price as the residence halls.
