Facilities Planning and Management

Facilities Planning and Management is committed to providing facility services to assure cultural and educational opportunities are delivered to the region and which complement the tradition of distinguished teaching in undergraduate programs. In doing so, the unit strives to be a model of excellence for comprehensive state institutions of its kind in delivering effective and efficient services to the Eastern Illinois University Community.

Position Available

 Director, Facilities Planning and Management

Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois is seeking applications and nominations for a highly motivated and experienced administrator to serve as Director of Facilities Planning and Management.  The Director reports directly to the Vice President for Business Affairs and has primary responsibility for the supervision, coordination and administration of programs and activities related to the University’s physical facilities. Review of applications will begin February 11, 2013, and will continue until finalists for the position are selected.  Anticipated start date is July 1, 2013.

Renewable Energy Research Plots

Renewable Energy Plots are parcels of land adjacent to the Renewable Energy Center. These plots are available for use by faculty and staff for projects that advance renewable energy at EIU.

Sustainability

A Sustainably Website has been created to show off our efforts . We were "green" before it became a buzzword. "Our energy conservation is the best in the state, & compared to other campuses our size, we're one of the best in the country," Gary Reed, director of EIU Facilities Planning and Management, said.
