Why Choose Eastern for Finance?
The Business Program of the Lumpkin College of Business and Applied Sciences at Eastern Illinois University is fully accredited by the prestigious American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business. Only 261 colleges and universities have earned this honor. AACSB accreditation involves examination and certification of the faculty, curricula, and resources of the university.
The Finance Program at Eastern Illinois University strives to maintain a low student-faculty ratio. The low ratio allows students to receive a higher level of individual attention and promotes student-faculty interaction. Members of the finance faculty have a practical orientation with a focus on the student and are all dedicated to teaching. Many have experience in finance-related professions, and all strive to blend practical applications with classroom activities. In addition to finance course work, all students take classes in accounting, management, marketing, operations management, and management information systems.

Many student organizations offer extra-curricular opportunities.
The Student Investment Society offers students the opportunity to help manage an investment portfolio. Established by the generous gift of an alumnus, this unique program is one of only a few in the country that gives students hands-on experience in securities analysis and selection.
The local Financial Management Association chapter allows students the opportunity to interact with area finance professionals and with faculty on a more personal level. The business fraternities Phi Gamma Nu and Delta Sigma Pi also have campus chapters.
