    Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants:

    Monetary Award Program:

The Monetary Award Program (MAP) provides grant assistance to eligible students demonstrating financial need. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of three credit hours and a maximum of 15 credit hours. MAP grants are applied toward tuition and mandatory fees for undergraduate students, not to exceed the maximum award amount for the academic year. The MAP formula is used to distribute the appropriated grant funds so that the neediest students receive grant assistance. Several components are used to determine eligibility. Annual award eligibility ranges from a minimum of $500 to maximum of $4968. For detailed information on the MAP grant visit the College Zone website www.collegezone.com/giftassist/753_2255.htm

    Monetary Award Program Plus:

Students must be enrolled as sophomores, juniors or seniors, at least half time (six hours) at MAP-approved Illinois colleges, and working toward a degree or certificate program. Recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The maximum MAP Plus available to a qualified applicant is $500 per school year, disbursed in two payments not to exceed $250 per term.
