Saturday, the festival will feature a special arts area from noon to 4 pm with a wide array of creative opportunities for the young Celebration visitor where children can use their creative talents to make their very own art.

Friday, May 1

11 am - 6 pm: Celebrate Herpetology: Studying Amphibians & Reptiles in Central Illinois
Students from the Biology department offer the opportunity to meet these animals up close. (None of the species on display are venomous.)

Saturday May 2

10 am: The Littlest Dancer
Featuring pre-ballet and creative movement students from the Jacqueline Bennett Dance Center performing he Children’s ballet “Hakuna Matada.”
Doudna Fine Arts Center, Recital Hall

11:30 am: Dave Rudolf
Grammy nominated, three time Parent’s Choice award winner, a two time Parent’s Guide award winner, and a four time Children’s Entertainment award nominee, Rudolf is widely known for his fun and upbeat children’s pop music. Rudolf has also written for Disney and for various children’s TV networks.

12:30 pm & 3:30 pm: Dave Herzog Marionettes, Captain Cranky and His Crew: A Pirate Adventure
Chicago based puppet company specializing in the art of the marionette, and dedicated to preserving the uniquely American art form of the marionette variety show.

1:30 pm & 3 pm: Shanta
Storyteller of African and African-American folktales who enhances her stories with music on a variety of Instruments.
