Musicians, artists and visitors from across Illinois will converge on the campus of Eastern Illinois University for Celebration: A Festival of the Arts the weekend of April 25, 26 and 27. Featuring a variety of arts activities and food booths the festival will take place on the university's Library Quad. As the last major event of the spring semester and one of the first outdoor events of the festival season, Celebration has been a tradition on Eastern's campus since 1977. The primary purpose of the festival is to celebrate the role the Arts play in our daily lives."
During the festival visitors have the opportunity to meet artists, buy art and see art being made and performed. Visitors typically experience jazz and rock performances as well as classical, folk and world music offerings. There's truly something for everyone at Celebration.
Celebration will feature a great line-up of fine arts vendors on Saturday and Sunday. Over 40 artisans will be on-hand selling their hand-crafted works of art ranging from jewelry and stoneware to paintings and sculptures. Other activities featured during the festival include demonstrations, children's art activities, artist exhibitions, and a delicious line-up of festival foods.
