Students interested in nutrition sciences are entering an exciting field! Now more than ever, media, marketing industries, and health care are popularizing the food we eat. Today, public awareness and interest in health and nutrition is an independent and specialized responsibility. Individuals knowledgeable about nutrition are needed to answer the questions arising from the trend of self-help and health maintenance.
The dietetics program integrates the basic and applied sciences; thus, the curriculum requires a blend of chemistry courses, business courses, and family and consumer sciences courses.
As legislation recognizes nutrition’s role in improving lives of individuals, families and communities, graduates with a B.S. in FCS: Dietetics will be competent in clinical settings, community health centers, food labs, and other various health and wellness settings.
