Distinguished Faculty Award

One of the most prestigious awards on campus, the Distinguished Faculty Award is presented to tenured or tenure-track faculty members in at least their fourth year of employment at the university. Qualified nominees will have excelled in each of the following areas: teaching/performance of primary duties, research/creative activity, and service. Faculty Laureate

The Faculty Laureate Award is presented annually by the Council of Academic Affairs to a member of Eastern's teaching faculty. Deserving faculty members will have demonstrated evidence of interest in general/liberal education and undergraduate students along with excellence as an undergraduate teacher. NOMINATIONS DUE MARCH 25

Nominations are being sought for Eastern's 2011 Faculty Laureate award, which recognizes a faculty member for excellence in teaching general education classes. 

Nominees must be current full-time members of Eastern's teaching faculty (Unit A and Unit B faculty as well as department chairpersons are eligible); and must have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching classes in the general education curriculum.
