Spill Response

When Accidents Happen...

The most important thing is to act quickly! EHS will advise on the clean-up and reporting procedures necessary to mitigate further damage and to prevent potential fines or penalties. EHS will direct the response action for your campus unit. This includes contacting the necessary authorities, dispatching clean-up crews, and fulfilling any reporting requirements.

Call Us Immediately...

Environmental Health and Safety Department 581-7068 whenever there is a release to the ground, open waterway, sanitary sewer, storm drain, air, or even if the cause or extent of a spill is unknown!

Why Should You Call Immediately?

  • Fines and Citations are frequently assessed for failure to report spills immediately to regulatory agencies.
  • Quick action can keep the release from spreading and drastically reduce response costs.
  • Callers can remain anonymous.

Remember...

Each campus unit is responsible for its environmental violations. If you contact us, we can help resolve the situation and limit costs.
