William Searle's areas of teaching and research interests include sixteenth- and seventeenth-century British literature, the Bible as literature, myth and culture, and the literature of the Vietnam War. He edited and contributed to Search and Clear: Critical Responses to Selected Literature and Films of the Vietnam War. His scholarly writing also appears in The Journal of American Culture; Cithara; American Notes & Queries; Choice; War, Literature and the Arts; and The Journal of American and Comparative Culture.
