Christopher Hanlon

Christopher Hanlon completed his PhD at the University of Massachusetts in 2001, where his dissertation focused upon the conceptual affinities between American Pragmatist philosophy and continental psychoanalytic theory. His writing on American literature, literary theory, and American intellectual history has appeared in such venues as New Literary History, American Literary History, College Literature, Pedagogy, Journal X, and Exquisite Corpse. While his principle focus is in antebellum literature and culture in New England, he teaches courses dealing more broadly with nineteenth-century America, Southern Literature, and critical theory.
