English 3401  Methods of Teaching Composition in the Secondary School

This course explores approaches to the teaching and evaluating of written composition in secondary schools. Course readings focus on theory and application of composition studies at the secondary level. Writing activities allow course participants to explore topics of interest in the teaching of composition. Technology-assisted research will be part of the course. Each class member will participate in a group presentation, develop a unit plan, and submit required artifacts to their student teaching portfolio. The School of Education requires a Live-Text submission of your unit plan in conjunction with this course. (Group 1)
