What are the Responsibilities
of the Pink Panthers?
A Pink Panther must be prepared to make a substantial commitment to
the team. Being a Pink Panther requires a lot of time, dedication, cooperation
and flexibility. Every practice and every performance is mandatory. Additionally, Pink Panthers are required to maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and full time EIU student status, attend all classes, and do well in their course work by obtaining a C or better grades. You also become an ambassador for Eastern Illinois University, the Athletic Department, and our team. All team members are expected to present their best at all times and truly represent an All American Collegiate Dancer.
The Pink Panthers practice every Monday
through Friday afternoon during football and basketball season. Additional
practices are scheduled as necessary. Cardio and muscle conditioning outside of practice is expected and logged. Nutrition is also monitored with a registered dietitian. Job schedules and social organizations must adjust to the Pink Panthers schedule.
In addition to performing at all home football and basketball
games, Pink Panthers also perform at many other sporting, university, and/or community
events. Community service and outreach are integral part of the team for financial support and awareness of the EIU Pink Panther Dance Team program.
