The EIU4 Scholarship for New Freshmen at EIU

Scholarship Procedures

Complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Consult the EIU Financial Aid webpage at http://www.eiu.edu/~finaid for assistance in completing the FAFSA.
Be eligible for the EIU4 Program (declared in an eligible major and intend to enroll in at least 14 hours for the fall semester).
Complete Parts 1 and 2 of the EIU4 Scholarship Application and submit them by July 31.

Applications are due July 31, 2009. As a reminder, you must complete the FAFSA form in order to be considered for the EIU4 Scholarship. Scholarship applicants must have a FAFSA form on file no later than July 31, 2009. FAFSA forms can found online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

Part 2: Essay

In 1-2 typed pages, detail your educational and career goals. Describe how you first became interested in your chosen field and discuss any extra-curricular activities (clubs, community service, awards, employment, etc.) that have prepared you to achieve your goals. You also should indicate how earning a degree at EIU within a four-year time frame will help you achieve your goals, and explain why financial assistance is important to your particular circumstances. Please type your essay in your word processing program, then copy and paste it into the space provided.
