1. Call to Order
Liz Hitch called the meeting to order.

2. Approval of Minutes of May 18, 2001
Motion (Carpenter/Fischer): Approve the minutes of May 18, 2001, meeting as distributed. Yes: Fischer, Carpenter, Daniel, McCormick, Davis, Leitschuh, Fewell, Allison, Coburn, Cox, Benedict, Hitch, Augustine, Johnson, Wandling, Oertling, Butt, Hudson, Pullen, Due, Weber, Strode, Witsman, Cannon, Klingenberg, Drake. Motion carried.
3. Committee/Scheduled Reports
a. Budget Transfer Committee
No Report
b. Budget and Planning Update
Kim Furumo gave a final report of how FY 2001 funds were spent; a planning allocation of FY 2002 funds; and a summary of FY 2003 budget request to the Board of Higher Education. Julia Abell reviewed the planning process.
c. Legislative Update
Dr. Nilsen gave a review of legislative highlights.
d. Executive Committee
Liz Hitch reported that the Executive Committee met through the summer. On July 18, the Committee spent time hearing about FY 2003 budget requests, Results Report information, and formatting CUPB meetings in a way that would be informative. On September 6, the Committee met with President Hencken and Joe Barron to discuss the letter from Attorney Massock. On September 21, the entire CUPB membership was invited to meet with the Executive Committee to share ideas regarding the bylaws revisions.

5. New Business
a. Election of Executive Committee Chair
Hank Davis was elected Executive Committee Chair. Hank Davis is the representative from Academic Affairs.
b. Election of Executive Committee
The following member were elected to the Executive Committee: Carol Strode as the representative from Business Affairs, Kelly Miller as the representative from Student Affairs, Rick Sailors from External Relations, Tara Coburn as a student, Mahmood Butt as the at-large representative, and Robert Augustine as the representative from the Deans/Chairs.
c. Election of Budget Transfer Committee
The following members volunteered to serve on the Budget Transfer Committee: David Carpenter, Lynette Drake, John Allison, Gloria Leitschuh, William Weber, Pat Fewell, Jim Johnson, John Oertling, and Steven Daniel.
d. Approval of 2001-2002 Meeting Calendar
Motion (Hudson/Pullen): To approve the meeting calendar. Yes: Fischer, Daniel, McCormick, Davis, Fewell, Coburn, Cox, Benedict, Hitch, Augustine, Johnson, Wandling, Oertling, Butt, Hudson, Pullen, Due, Weber, Strode, Witsman, Cannon, Klingenberg, Drake. No: Carpenter, Allison. Motion carried.
CUPB meetings are scheduled for November 9, 2001, January 18, 2002, February 15, 2002, April 19, 2002, and May 17, 2002.
e. Bylaws
There was a discussion of the bylaws. Member were asked to share suggestions for revisions with the Executive Committee for consideration.
f. Other
David Carpenter publicly thanked Liz Hitch for taking CUPB through a turbulent year.
Elmer Pullen thanked Kim Furumo and Julia Abell for their work with the Council this past year.
