Admissions
If you are looking for the next step to your professional future, you have come to the right place. Admission to the department is a two step process. The first step is to apply to the graduate school. When you have completed your graduate school application, you will need to apply separately to the Counseling and Student Development Department. You will need to choose if you want to pursue a Master's Degree in Counseling or in Student Affairs. If you are not sure which program is right for you, click on the program links on the left or take our online tour. If you are still not sure, make an appointment with a departmental representative and find out more. If you know which program you want, just click on it and follow the guidelines for applying.

We have hired a couple of your graduates since I have been here in the past year. You have an excellent Master's program and your grads seem to have more practical clinical experience due in part I think, to their practica. Keep them coming!"
Tom Dequimpaul, Prairie Center Health Systems
"Coming to graduate school has been an amazing experience for me. This is the first time I have ever lived away from home, and the College Student Affairs faculty and the Eastern Illinois University community have made me feel so welcome. I am really enjoying the counseling focus of our program and feel like our professors are at the forefront of what is happening in our field. I would recommend this program without reservation to anyone who wants to be in a challenging learning environment with a close-knit family feeling."
