Dr. Sharon Lee (Carr) Coleman BS Ed, ’64); Graduate work at the University of Iowa; Ph.D.; Southern Illinois University. Professor of Chemistry Emeritus Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, MO; Specialty, Chemical Education.

Dr. Ronald Wayne Davis (BS Ed, ’64); Ph.D. California Institute of Technology; Postdoctoral work at Harvard University; Professor of Biochemistry and Genetics at Stanford University; Member of the National Academy of Sciences; He received the 2011 Gruber Genetics Prize for his pioneering work in developing biotechnologies that have significantly advanced the fields of molecular genetics and genomics. The prize consisted of $500,000 along with a gold medal; He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1984 and an Honorary Doctorate in 1995 from EIU.
