| 25. Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus
dioica). The com-pound leaves of this tree are very large (1 to 3 feet
long). The seeds, contained in flattened pods, somewhat resemble coffee beans,
and were used by some early settlers as a coffee substitute. |
