Undergraduate Program Checklists
The following program checklists have been developed by the Department of Early Childhood,
Elementary and Middle Level Education as advisement tools to help students follow curriculum
requirements as stated in the undergraduate catalog. It remains the responsibility of each student to be familiar with their catalog and to meet all requirements for teacher certification and graduation.
Each checklist includes a possible 4-year plan as an example of course sequencing. Other plans are possible and the student should consult with his/her advisor to develop the study plan best suited to his/her needs and interests, including the exploration of endorsements and multiple certification opportunities.
While all of Eastern Illinois University's teacher education programs are approved by the Illinois State Board of Education, only the state can issue teaching certificates. All licensure programs are subject to change to follow requirements of the Illinois State Board of Education and the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary and Middle Level Education.

To become eligible for this endorsement you must complete the required number of hours in the specific content field(s) and complete courses focused on teaching in the middle grades.
