Programs of Study
Master's and Specialist programs are offered
on-campus with a significant number of courses being offered each
semester. Cohort programs are currently being offered in Danville, Pontiac,
Decatur, Mt. Vernon, Rantoul, Olney, Carmi and Vandalia. These
programs are limited to students admitted with permission of the
Department and the local Regional Offices of Education.
The Master's of Science in Educational
Administration provides the
necessary coursework for securing the Illinois Type 75 General Administrative
Certificate. The program is designed to meet the requirement
for becoming a principal, dean, or building or central office administrator.
In addition to successful completion of the program, having a Teaching
or School Service Personnel Certificate, two years of full-time
teaching or school service personnel experience and successful completion
of the Illinois General Administration Certification Test are required
for certification.
Master's
of Science in Education Degree in Educational Administration
is a
36-semester-hour program. The

Specialist Degree
in Educational Administration provides
the necessary coursework for graduates to secure the Illinois State
Board of Education Certification to be a Superintendent of Schools.
In addition to successful completion of the program, two years of
full-time administrative experience and successful completion of
the Illinois Superintendent Certification Test are required for
certification.
Specialist in Education
Degree in Educational Administration requires a minimum
of 33 semester hours above the Master's
Degree. The required coursework is as follows:
