1. What do I need
to do to wait list a class off campus?
You must submit your request in writing in one
of four ways:
a) write it in on the registration
form and mark it with "waitlist"
b) fax the request to the Educational
Leadership Department at 217-581-6673
c) send the Cohort Coordinator,
Margaret Hunter an email at mmhunter@eiu.edu
d) Complete the Cohort Waitlisting form from the Ed Leadership home page
2. What information is needed on a wait list request?
a) Name
b) Phone Number
c) EIU E-mail Address
d) Course Number and Section Number
e) Cohort Area
f) Student Identification Number
(E Number)
3. How does the wait list work?
Once you are waitlisted for an off-campus course, you will be notified via EIU e-mail if you have been able to drop in to the class from the waitlist. All drop-ins from waitlist will be completed approximately 2 to 3 weeks prior to the start date of the class.
4. If I am not going to take classes for the upcoming semester, do I need to notify the Educational Administration Department?
Yes, you need to call us at 217-581-2919, fax us a note at 217-581-6673 or e-mail the department letting us know why you will not be taking classes (i.e., coaching conflicts, etc.) This allows our office to determine your registration status and allow someone else to obtain your seat in a class.
5. Will I receive a confirmation that I have registered for classes - off-campus in a cohort location?
Cohort students do not receive any type of confirmation that you have registered for your classes. If you are a member of a cohort then you are automatically enrolled in your slated classes if you write them down on the registration form. If you request another class in another cohort area then you will be notified via email if you are dropped in from the waitlist.
6. How will I
know where my cohort class will be held?
At least one week prior to your class start dates
you will receive an email from either the Cohort Coordinator,
Margaret Hunter(mmhunter@eiu.edu)
or from the Departmental Email Address (edadmin@eiu.edu)
stating more information about the course (i.e. cost, location,
room numbers, books, etc). You can also check for this information
on the Continuing Education's Web Site at www.eiu.edu/~adulted.
Click on the "View Course Schedule" icon and then "Choose Course
Schedule", drop-down menu to "Cohort Classes" and click on your
cohort area.
7. What do I need to do if I want to register for an on-campus class?
You can register using the PAWS system from the
EIU Homepage at www.eiu.edu/paws
You must register using this system, the department cannot enroll
you into any on-campus classes.
8. What do I need to do if I cannot locate my EIU net ID?
Contact our department at 217-581-2919.
9. What if I have problems logging in or cannot find my password?
Contact the EIU Help Desk at 217-581-HELP (4357).
10. What if I am having trouble registering for a class on the PAWS system due to a time conflict?
You must call the Registration office at 217-581-3831.
11. As a cohort member, do I need to complete a registration form each semester?
Yes, you must complete a registration form each semester in order to be enrolled in your cohort classes. If you do not complete a registration form, your seat will be given to someone else. Sometime within one of your cohort classes during each semester you will be provided with a registration form for the upcoming semester's classes in order to register.
12. What if I don't receive a registration form?
Then you can obtain one from our website at www.eiu.edu/~edadmin
. Follow the link on the left side to "Cohort Information" and scroll
down towards the bottom of the page until you see "Cohort Registration
Form".
13. Where do I go to apply for Graduation?
You must apply for Graduation by using the PAWS
system at www.eiu.edu/paws
14. Can I use tuition waivers for off-campus cohort classes?
The answer is No, you cannot use tuition waivers for off-campus classes, tuition waivers can only be used for classes on-campus.
15. Can I apply for Financial Aid for my coursework?
Yes, you may apply for Financial Aid, however,
you must check with the Financial Aid office on the rules and regulation
guidelines. The number to the Financial Aid office is 217-581-3713
or you can visit them on the web at www.eiu.edu/~finaid
16. What are the
deadlines for applying for Practicum (EDA 5890) and Field Experience
(EDA 6910)?
If you are going to take EDA 5890 or EDA 6910
during the Spring Semester, your deadline to submit your application
is JULY 15th. If you are going to take EDA 5890 or EDA 6910 during
the Fall Semester, your deadline to submit your application is MARCH
15th.
17. When can I
begin work on EDA 5890 or EDA 6910?
An orientation meeting will be held the semester
before the course begins. No Work may be counted
for required hours until the orientation is held
18.
What if my name does not appear on the instructor's roster?
It may be that for some reason your records are
encumbered. Those reasons may include failure to return textbooks,
failure to pay fees, etc. You must call the Registration office
at 217-581-3831.
