Three EIU Speech Team Members Set for Nationals

Three members of the Eastern Illinois University Speech Team have qualified to participate in the national tournament during April.

Mandy Smith (senior from Centralia), Samantha Sauer (senior from Sycamore), and Darnell Tyms (sophomore from Dolton) will compete in the National Forensics Association Tournament April 15th through 18th at Illinois State University in Normal.

Smith will compete in four events:  Persuasion, Prose, Drama, and Impromptu Speaking.  Sauer is entered in three events:  After Dinner Speaking, Impromptu, and Informative.  Tyms will compete in Drama and Prose.

The NFA Tournament will be the final tournament of the season for the EIU team.
