EIU Speech Team to Host High School Speech Tournament

Eastern Illinois University's Speech Team will host the Panther Prowl, a high school speech individual events tournament on Saturday January 8th, 2011.  Competition will take place in Coleman Hall on the EIU Campus in Charleston, Illinois. 

The Panther Prowl is a one day tournament, with two preliminary rounds of competition and one final round.  14 events will be contested, including Duet Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Impromptu, Informative,  Extemporaneous, Oratorical Declamation, Original Comedy, Original Oratory, Prose, Radio, Verse and Special Occasion.  Awards will be given for 1st through 6th place, as well as for the top novice speaker.
