A journal article authored by a Communication Studies faculty member has been named as one of the most commonly cited articles in the field of Rhetoric for 2010.
Dr. Marita Gronnvoll's article entitled "From Viruses to Russian Roulette to Dance: A Rhetorical Critique and Creation of Genetic Metaphors" was named as one of the five most commonly cited articles in Rhetoric Society Quarterly. The article was co-authored by Dr. Jamie Landau from Keene State and appeared in the Winter 2010 edition of Rhetoric Society Quarterly.
The article critiques and creates metaphoric genetic rhetoric by examining metaphors for genes used by representatives of the lay American public. The article has implications for rhetorical criticism, science studies, and public health.
