Graduate student honored for best research project on campus

Brandon Hensley

A graduate student in Communication Studies has been selected as the author of the best graduate research project on campus for 2011.

Brandon Hensley will receive Eastern Illinois University's 2011 King-Mertz Distinguished Research/Creative Activity Award.  The award is given each year to the author of the best research/creative activity project on campus and is the highest form of recognition for a graduate project at E.I.U. 

Hensley is being honored for his project "Body Billboards and Brand Colonization:  Embodied Corporate Advertising in Postmodern Branding Culture."  The faculty mentor for the project is Dr. Matt Gill.

Hensley will receive a $500 award during the Distinguished Graduate Student Awards Ceremony.  His project will also be featured in Eastern's Graduate Journal of Scholarship, which is published in conjunction with the annual Graduate Expo.
