NSSLHA Events

Each year NSSLHA participates in a variety of events within the CDS department, throughoutcampus and throughout the community. Annual events include:

NSSLHA officers: Shannon Harper (Vice President), Katie Pippin (President), Danielle Conrad (Graduate Representative), Angela Beckman (Faculty Supervisor), Brittany Barker (Secretary), Trina Becker (Faculty Supervisor), Natalie Griffy-Monahan (Treasurer), Ellen McNamara (Program Coordinator), Lynne Duzan (Junior Representative), Roger Peeter (Sophomore Representative), Laura Colgen (Senior Representative).

CDS Department Events

• NSSLHA group meetings within the department
• Educational programs such as guest speakers, study abroad information, grad school preparation and CPR training
• Social events such as the Welcome Back Luau, Halloweenie roast and Spring Game Night
• 2 Client-clinician parties for our clients who receive services at the Eastern Illinois University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic
• Faculty-Student Christmas Luncheon
• Spring Awards Banquet

NSSLHA Contributions

Annually NSSLHA raises money for the NSSLHA Love's Campaign which is established each year by our national organization. Each year we donate money to a specific charity. In addition to donating money to the NSSLHA Love's Campaign, NSSLHA also donates money to the CDS department (e.g., funded purchase of magazine holder in clinician's room), the University (e.g. College of Science Scholarship Fund), and the Community (e.g., donated books to local doctor's offices). Finally, NSSLHA funds the annual NSSLHA Most Outstanding Graduate Student Scholarship.
