Medical Internship is a practicum experience in a setting approved by the Department. It is to be taken credit/no credit for a maximum of 3 semester hours applicable to the degree. Prerequisites: acceptance by the internship site; completion of all CDS graduate coursework except CDS 5970 and CDS 5890 and a grade of B or better in at least 6 semester hours of CDS 5900, 5910, 5920 or permission of the department chairperson. Internships are typically 5 day-per-week placements for 14 weeks. Internship sites are located in facilities throughout Illinois and other states. Some sites at which previous students have been placed are as close as Mattoon, Illinois and as far away as Germany, Nevada, Colorado, and Connecticut.
