Jill Fahy, M.A. Ms. Fahy joined the Department in the fall of 2004 as an instructor; she recently accepted a position as Asssistant Professor. Ms. Fahy provides clinical teaching for undergraduate and graduate students in clinical practicum (CDS 4900, 5900) and in diagnostic practicum (CDS 5910). Her clinical supervision encompasses a wide range of children and adolescents with deficits in executive functions, social communication, and pragmatics, all of whom are working to develop adaptive life skills. Ms. Fahy teaches graduate courses in Development of Executive Functions (CDS 5400) and Acquired Language Disorders (CDS 5300), and has taught Motor Speech Disorders (CDS 5100). She lectures at the state level on the assessment and treatment of executive function disorders and associated communication imprairments. Other areas of interest include brain-behavior relationships for the right hemisphere, neurology, traumatic brain injury, and functional cognitive and vocational rehabilitation. Along with Gail Richard, Ms. Fahy is co-author or The Source for Development of Executive Functions. Prior to teaching at EIU, Ms. Fahy provided services primarily to populations with acquired neurological deficits in medical settings. She was also affiliated with several academic programs as a clinical supervior and adjunct faculty member. Currently, Ms. Fahy serves as president elect of ECISHA (East Central Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association).
