Ms. Angela Beckman New Faculty – Communication Disorders and Sciences Narrative: Joined the department as Assistant Professor in 2006. She is currently completing her doctorate in Reading Education from the University of Virginia. Ms. Beckman currently teaches Introduction to Communication Disorders (CDS 2000) and supervises students conducting Aural Rehabilitation therapy in the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic (CDS 5900) and in the Eastern Illinois Area of Special Education Hearing Impaired Program, housed in the Charleston Community Schools (CDS5920). She co-advises the EIU chapter of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association with Mrs. Trina Becker. She previously worked as a speech-language pathologist in a private school and in private practice. Ms. Beckman is a co-author of Scaffolding with Storybooks: A Guide for Enhancing Young Children’s Language and Literacy Achievement, published in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Virginia.
