Each academic year since 1996 on one Friday afternoon (the next ScienceFest is March 28, 2008) the College of Sciences recognizes undergraduate and graduate students research accomplishments, their faculty mentors, and faculty’s research, teaching and services with stipend, certificates and plaques. The celebration begins with the Dean giving the State of the College of Sciences, followed by the undergraduate and graduate selected research presentations. The students’ research is also being demonstrated on posters in the Ballroom for the audience to view. This is followed by recognizing research, teaching and service of the college’s faculty chosen by their peers from each category including a sort remark by each recipient. The ceremony concludes with the College of Sciences Student Advisory Council recognizing one of the college’s faculty, who has made the greatest contribution to their academic as well as personal growth, chosen by the council from nominees made by students from each of the ten departments in the College.
