STUDENT
ADVISORY BOARD
BYLAWS
Article 1-Name
The name
of this organization shall be the “College
of Sciences Student Advisory Board” of
Eastern Illinois University.
Article II-Purposes
The
purpose of the organization shall be:
- To provide communication between students and
administration in the College
of Sciences
- To receive student opinions and advice on issues
- To disseminate information to students
- To provide a forum for student concerns
- To develop leadership skills
Article III-Representation
At the beginning of each academic
year, one student shall be appointed by the chair of each department within the
College of Sciences to serve on the Advisory
Board. Each advisory board member will
represent students in his/her department.
No monetary dues are to be paid.
Article IV-Officers
The
Student Dean shall chair the Advisory Board for the College of Sciences. A Student Associate Dean and a Secretary
shall be elected. The Student Associate
Dean will serve as chair or represent the Student Advisory Board in the absence
of the Student Dean. The Secretary shall
record minutes of the meetings and distribute the minutes to the membership. The
Dean and Associate Dean of the College will serve as ex officio members.
Article V-Meetings
Meetings
will be held one per month during the months of September, October, November,
January, February, March, and April. The
Student Dean of the College will chair meetings.
Article VI-Amendments
Amendments
to this Constitution may be made by a majority vote of the Advisory Board
members.
Article VII-Attendance
All
members shall notify the Student Dean prior to the meeting time if they are are unable to attend. Members
missing more than two scheduled meetings without notification to the Student
Dean prior to the meeting may be replaced.
