Lincoln Academy Award

The Lincoln Academy of Illinois Award is a Student Affairs Scholarship. Each year, the award is given to an outstanding senior from each four-year , degree-granting institution of higher learning in Illinois. The awardee from Eastern Illinois University for 2011 was Cassie Fuller, Communication Disorders & Sciences.

Criteria for the award included overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities. Cassie attended the presentation ceremony in Springfield, IL on November 5 with her mentor, Brenda Wilson, PhD, and her mother. The impressive ceremony focused on the ideals set forth by President Lincoln, and emphasized the need for outstanding students to represent the ideals of contributing through academics, volunteerism, and community service. The ceremony was followed by lunch at the Governor’s mansion.

Cassie Fuller is an Honors student with a GPA of 4.0. She is currently completing her undergraduate thesis, "Treatment of discourse after traumatic brain injury". Cassie plans to pursue a graduate degree in audiology.
